​SAEM provides volunteer mentors to assist at-risk children by “Adopting a Student.” 

Many students do not have adult family members who may be available to attend their school-related activities. Activities include tutoring, serving as a room mother or room father, eating lunch periodically with a student, attending school activities such as plays, athletic events, and carnivals.

Mentors may share time with a student by reading a book or playing age appropriate games.
