How to Help Mrs. Dorsey's
Clothes Closet

Financial Support

Financial donations to Mrs. Dorsey's Clothes Closet support our facility expenses and purchase of needed items for the people that we serve.

Item Donations

Thank you in advance for your generous donation to our ministry! Donations are received at our facility during normal operating hours listed below. If you are unable to donate during those hours, please call us at 540-389-4889 and leave a message and we will arrange another time to receive your donation. We are no longer using a donation bin. 
See This Month's Amazon Wishlist  - Place an order at Amazon for our organization and it will be delivered directly to our facility.

Our Greatest Needs this Month:
  • Personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)
  • Sunscreen
  • Baby diapers, any size
  • Boys and girls underwear, any size
  • Men's white athletic crew socks
  • Men's white undershirts, any size
  • Men's underwear, S-L
  • Large Cardboard boxes (2 sq ft or larger)
  • Blankets
  • Towels
  • Bedding (sheets and comforters, especially King, Queen and Full)
  • Men's small pants and jeans, sizes 28-34 waist
  • Men's small and medium shirts
  • Women's small pants and jeans, sizes 0-6
  • Children's in season clothing and shoes, baby through size 18 years old

Items Accepted on an On-Going Basis (new or gently used):
  • Adult, kids and infant clothing (in season)
  • Socks, shoes and underwear
  • Towels, blankets, sheets, comforters, etc.
  • Non-perishable food items (cereal, canned foods, pasta, etc.)
  • Kitchen goods such as plates, utensils, and cookware
  • Small working electronics/home appliances such as hairdryers, blenders, and coffee makers

Due to space limitations, we cannot (can no longer) accept the following items:
  • Furniture
  • Large appliances or electronics
  • Household decor such as knick knacks, tablecloths, curtains, pictures, and shower curtains
  • Holiday/Seasonal items
  • Suits
  • Jewelry
  • Toys
  • Games
  • Videos
  • Books

Volunteer

We are always in need of extra hands to sort, hang, and organize clothes, and help clients "shop." If you or your organization are interested in volunteering at the clothes closet, please contact us by filling out the contact form or giving us a call.
