Fresh Ideas Garden

SAEM partners with the City of Salem and other local ministries to support a volunteer community garden with proceeds donated to the Salem Food Pantry.
We provide financial and administrative support, along with fundraising for planning and implementation. Annually, nearly 1 ton of produce is grown and donated. |
Area School Mentors

SAEM provides volunteer mentors to assist at-risk children by “Adopting a Student.”
Many students do not have adult family members who may be available to attend their school-related activities. Activities include tutoring, serving as a room mother or room father, eating lunch periodically with a student, attending school activities such as plays, athletic events, and carnivals. Mentors may share time with a student by reading a book or playing age appropriate games. |
