Starting March 2025 - How to Sign Up
Starting in March 2025, we will be collecting new, simplified registration forms for everyone. Even if you have "shopped" with us before, you will be required to present your ID and fill out a new registration form on your first shopping visit. Or you can print and fill out a registration form at home and bring it with you on your next visit.

Who is Eligible?
Our team of volunteers would be happy to assist anyone 18 years or older who needs clothing, shoes, or household items for themselves or their family.
We have no minimum income or asset requirements. We just ask that you bring your valid photo ID such as a driver's license or passport each time you visit us.
We believe in the honor system, which means that if you purchase items here, they will be used by your family members and will not be resold in any way.

How Does "Shopping" Work?

Arrival and Check-In
When you arrive at our facility, please check-in with a valid picture ID. If you have completed a new registration form in March 2025 or later, our volunteers will retrieve your registration card from our system. If you are new, we will ask you to fill out a registration card.

What Items Can I Take Home?
Due to limited donations, certain items in our showroom may have quantity restrictions. These items will be clearly marked. Limited items may include jeans, underwear, sheets, towels, household items, and toiletries. |
Shoe Voucher Program Through Mrs. Dorsey's Clothes Closet, shoe vouchers are available for families needing school or work shoes. The voucher is presented to a local retail store for the purchase of the shoes. Shoe Vouchers are normally in the amount of $25. |

How Often Can a Family/Individual "Shop?"
Families and individuals can "shop" every other month. For example, if you "shop" in March, you may "shop" again in May.

Anything Else I Should Know?
- Please arrive by 11:30am so you will have the full 30 minutes to pick out items.
- Remove clothing from hangers and deposit items in your bags.
- Deposit hangers in bins on the floor throughout the showroom.
- Checkout at the front counter.
Information for Nonprofits, Service Agencies and Other Charities
I am with a local nonprofit, charity, social service agency, rehab clinic, or treatment facility. Can I bring a beneficiary or group in to "shop?"
Absolutely! We love to work with other organizations in the area. If you are bringing an individual, you are welcome to come during our normal hours of operation. If you would like to bring a group, please give us a call at 540-389-4889. We will schedule an appointment for your group.
